How to Decoupage a table

Inspired by the decoupage projects in our new book, ‘Recraft’,  I spent a very enjoyable rainy day covering my kitchen table in pages of an old bird book bought on Ebay. It’s easy to do: rip up pages from an old book, newspaper, magazine or anything else, and stick down with plenty of watered down PVA glue. You want the glue to be quite runny, remember it will take quite a while to dry. Apply as many coats as you can (at least 3). To make it extra shiny and wipe-clean (good for tables which get a lot of use) follow with a couple of coats of varnish.
